About the Tim Moher Jazz Group

Tim Moher holds a Bachelor of Music (Hons.), B.A. and B.Ed. all from the University of Western Ontario (Canada). He has played all the saxophones with a variety of groups and has been featured as a classical, jazz and ragtime soloist over the past 20 years. Some of the bands and groups he has played with include, The Band of the Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa, Orchestra London, and The Forest City Saxophone Quartet. He has recorded with The Wellington Winds, The Royal City Saxophone Quartet, and The Windjammers. Locally, Tim has played at various restaurants including, Manhattan's Restaurant and The Rude Native in Guelph, as well as the Boathouse and Melange Restaurants in Kitchener. Currently, Tim has directed several school musicals including "Annie", "Oliver" and "Oz", as well as "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat". He is the conductor of a 40 piece concert band at his elementary school in Waterloo.

In the early 70's, keyboardist, Paul Stouffer got his musical career off to a great start acting as the musicaldirector for "Robby Lane and the Disciple Band" in the early 70's.Paul Stouffer has helped manage Sherwood Music since 1977. His band, "Night Life", performs to a wide variety ofcorporate functions and weddings across southern Ontario. He has participated as a jazz clinician with Peter Appleyard. More recently he was an adjudicator inthe jazz piano category at the Stratford Kiwanis Music Festival.Recently, Paul acted as a clinician with the Jazz Jam Clinic sponsored by the KW Optimist Club. Currently Paulplays at local jazz clubs including Manhattan Restaurant in Guelph and Cafe Bolero in Kitchener and teaches private lessons in jazz improvisation and composition.

John Solberg is originally from England and studied classical music with the Royal School of Music. He toured Europe and the Middle East extensively for five years with the "Mike Scott Mastersounds" and "The Derek Butterworth Big Band". He then toured Canada and the United States for four years with "Carson". In Toronto, he performed with the "Hugh Macsilowitz Big Band" and the "Jack Panter Quintet". John then settled in Guelph and owned and operated Keyboards Plus and Music, Music. Locally, John has played with a variety of bands including *Don Singular Memory Lane Orchestra, The Twilites and The Royal City Big Band. He recently held the post as resident organist at Trinity United Church.
